Lighting is an essential element to be considered in a retail environment because appropriate lighting levels are crucial when it comes to making sales. Here at Irish Time Design we have been studying lighting levels as a fundamental part of our fit outs for over 20 years and have developed considerable expertise in this area – in fact we are undoubtedly the market leaders when it comes to supplying retail lighting. Through attendance at international trade fairs we have sourced the ultimate light system for retail interiors. In recent refurbishments at Swamp Galway and Swamp Stephens Green Centre Again we installed this new lighting system which has given a totally different feeling to the store and has achieved the correct light levels on the clothing. Prior to this power consumption was very high and colour rendition was exceedingly poor. Since the installation the store is using less power and the new specially designed lights are illuminating the merchandise to optimum effect. Grand Entrance

Irish Time Design has revolutionised the shop entrance at Swamp Eyre Square Centre, Galway. As part of a recent total refurbishment of the store we removed the old shop front in order to open the interior out to the mall. An entrance should not only attract attention, it should suck customers in. Too often an entrance is treated as a door, but it’s not, it’s a vortex into which customers must be compelled to go. We relocated the entrance at Swamp and doubled the height and width. It’s a perfect example of repositioning the entrance so that customers feel compelled to go in. Stand outside and watch women passing this store and well over half of the target market will turn their heads and look in. This is the first step in attracting new customers and a large percentage of these prospective customers get sucked in with the added opportunity to convert them to sales. Customers walking past on the mall feel that they are part of the store and have less resistance about going in and making a grand entrance…

Irish Time Design ‘Swamp’ with Work

Irish Time Design has just completed another successful fit out for Swamp ladies fashions, this time in Stephen’s Green shopping centre. The customer will be wowed by the new image we have created for the ground floor unit. The most important change we feel, is the layout of the shop entrance. We changed the opening angle and width to allow the customer a chance to see into the shop………

Liz Cassidy appointed Irish Ambassador for Female Entrepreneurship in the EU

Liz Cassidy, Irish Time Design, and Chairperson of Galway Executive Skillnet, was honoured in Stockholm recently at the launch of the European Network of Female Entrepreneurship Ambassadors. The Ambassadors programme is an initiative of the European Commission to highlight and promote women entrepreneurs as a key to economic growth and job creation.
Liz was selected to represent Ireland at the Inauguration Ceremony and she was presented with her diploma by H.R.H. Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, at a gala dinner held in Stockholm City Hall where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held annually. The two year appointment was based on Liz’s involvement over the years in encouraging women in business through self development with the assistance agencies such as Skillnets.

Tom Laverty of Irish Time Design finalising plans with Yvonne and Charlie Chan for the new Royal Villa Restaurant due to open in Salthill this month (April 09). The new restaurant located above the National Aquarium in Salthill is currently being fitted out by Irish Time Design. Charlie Chan is a well know local businessman having run Royal Villa in Shop Street for 15 years. Charlie’s daughter Yvonne will manage the new Royal Villa which is quaranteed to be very popular and a welcome addition to the range of eateries already available in this high volume tourist location.

Irish Time Design do their bit for the Galway Rape Crisis Centre

Laura Rigney from the Galway Rape Crisis Centre accepting a cheque for € 2,500 from Irish Time Design, the leading commercial interior design and fitout company, who kindly sponsored the GRCC t-shirts.
These t-shirts will be worn by all participants in various fundraising events for the centre, including the Flora Mini Marathon, the FUTURE 8k Streets of Galway and Laura Charity Jumpers, a sponsored parachute jump, to name but a few.
